Writing postcards to yourself

Lately colouring books for grown ups are really hip and happening. Due to their massive popularity there are also postcards versions available which you can send as a gift or colour yourself. When I was shopping in Amsterdam I visited an English bookstore which sold these really cute Harry Potter cards which I absolutely loved! I was already addicted to colouring the Christmas postcards which I bought earlier. I choose to paint them half and leave the other half blank as my friends and family could fill those in themselves. However when I found the Harry Potter edition I was so in love I did not want to hand them out. Therefore I came up with the idea to send them to myself as some kind of motivation or loving message to myself when I am feeling down. These messages are inspired by the drawings on the other sides of the cards. For example the raven claw house crest; here I wrote to myself that I am indeed an intelligent person and that I should not doubt my abilities even though I tend to be very insecure. Another card was a quidditch player, here I wrote down that I am a big sports lover and that I should do what I love and discover what kinds of sports I like regardless of what other people might like. By sending yourself these kind of little notes you can brighten up your mood and give yourself a little present each time. Store them somewhere you can see them so you will remember those notes and see how they sparked your creativity each time. Which colours did you feel like using when you coloured the card or how they motivated you to keep on going. Such a small exercise which I personally enjoy doing. Give it a try and see if it works out for you!
