Starting a small diary

Just like making a to-do list mentioned during a previous post, keeping track of your goals and achievements can also be done by writing a daily 'post' in your personal diary. This is an excellent moment to process your day and reflect upon what you have done. Don't just merely recite your schedule but really focus on the positive achievements. Everyone has different difficulties they are struggling with in life whether it is a social phobia, physical disability or being scared of heights. Taking small steps to conquer these fears is different for each and every persons. Even though these weaknesses themselves might differ, it is important to challenge them in order to keep on improving yourself and learning to accept who you are as an individual. It is far better to let your strengths divine who you are as a person rather than letting your day revolve around focusing on your traits. Furthermore it is of the utmost importance of reflect upon your improvement without this process you might not notice how much you have progressed. This is why it is very important to allow yourself positive reflection if you have accomplished anything you find difficult. Complimenting yourself on these wins is a perfect way to boost your self-esteem. Remember that you are an individual and that you do not need to compare yourself with your friends and family. Their achievements might seem way more difficult at times but don't talk yourself down. As their situation might be very different than yours as their time, resources and tasks are not the same. An example of a page out of diary could look like this;
(Bear in mind this page would involve a day of a student who has a social phobia)
"Today I've made breakfast in the kitchen and I made conversation with my fellow roommates. I asked them how their days would look like and even made a joke. During class I dared to raise my hand in front of the class and ask I question I was struggling with. In the grocery store I could not find the milk, therefore I spoke to a sales person who helped me find the right place. In the afternoon I met up with a friend I had not seen in quite a while and we had a nice chat. During the evening a went out for drinks with my roommates and I even dared to look at a cute boy and made a small chat. Maybe a next step would be to get his phone number and make a date. I am very proud of myself that I dared to raise a question during class while everyone could notice me but it really helped me. Next time I will definitely do this again! Now I am going to reward myself by taking a nice, long, hot shower with my favourite shower foam."
